On July 29, the on-site promotion meeting for the high-quality development of inland navigation nationwide was held in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province. Deputy Minister of Transport Liu Xiaoming attended the meeting and emphasized that we should earnestly implement the spirit of the series of important instructions of General Secretary Jin Ping on shipping development, and under the guidance of the goal of building a strong transportation country, adhere to quality first and benefit first, in order to deepen supply-side structural reforms. Main line, fully implement the new development concept, strengthen coordination and linkage, consolidate the development of joint efforts, continue to promote the high-quality development of inland navigation, and strive to write a new chapter in the development of strong domestic river shipping.

Liu Xiaoming requested that we should deeply understand the international and domestic situations facing the promotion of high-quality development of inland navigation, accurately grasp its connotation and basic characteristics, identify the basic methods and paths to promote the high-quality development of inland navigation, and achieve the "three persistences" and focus "Four batches", coordinate the deployment of key tasks in the next stage, promote the realization of quality change, efficiency change, and power change, improve total factor productivity, and promote the full play of the comparative advantage of inland shipping.

Liu Xiaoming pointed out that advancing the high-quality development of inland navigation is an important task at present and in the future, and strives to build a safe, convenient, efficient, green, and economic inland navigation system by 2035 to meet the needs of economic and social development and meet the growing needs of the people. The need for a better life depends on six aspects: priority development, green development, smooth development, innovative development, safe development, and healthy development. We should take the opportunity to carry out the theme education of "not forgetting the original intention and remembering the mission", carefully examine the gaps, deeply analyze the reasons, find ways to solve the difficult constraints, and transform the fruitful results of the theme education into a lasting power to overcome difficulties and provide high-quality development for inland shipping Create a good environment.

Zhou Naixiang, member of the Standing Committee of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Suzhou Municipal Party Committee, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Leaders of the National Development and Reform Commission and the relevant departments of the Ministry of Finance, responsible comrades of the relevant departments and ministries of the ministries and agencies, representatives of the relevant provincial transportation authorities and port and shipping agencies, representatives of relevant ports and shipping companies, and the design and construction of water transport projects, 120 people including representatives of supervising enterprises and relevant industry associations attended the meeting.
